Howdy, I'm HeatherI'm the second of six sisters. I live in Philly, yo (well, near it) where I read, cook, sing, run, and watch classic movies. I love cats, cheese and The Brady Bunch. And I do mean love. It can be pretty alarming. I also dig traveling and wish I had the means to do it more.
I am 72% optimist and 28% realist. I think life is absurd and funny and seeing the humor in it all is necessary. I assumed I'd have it all a little more figured out by now but, of course, that's silly. I moved around a lot and was always "the new kid." I had gone to six different schools by the time McKenzie was born. It could have made me shy or outgoing--guess which one stuck? It only took me 20 years to get my BA in English with a journalism concentration. I want Mo Rocca's career and the last name Sedaris. HP on KenzI was 13 when Kenz was born and I was NOT happy about it. I hated babysitting her and our sister Meredith. They called me "Iron Fist." They claim there was a choking incident, but I claim to not really remember it. I skipped out on her 1st birthday and went to a movie instead. I don't remember when I started liking her, but when I did, I taught her about The Beatles and J.D. Salinger. The first time I danced on a bar was when she visited me in NYC. She was 16 and I was 29 and I just followed her lead. People gave us money and we made enough to go get breakfast when we left the bar at 5 a..m. I admire her strength and bravery. I love that she knows what she wants and makes things happen. She's ridiculously smart. I'm beyond grateful to her for bringing two awesomely awesome nephews into my life. I never thought I could love a couple of kids so much.

Oh hey, I'm McKenzieI really like riding my bike and swimming in lakes. I have perfect vision and don't wear any makeup, but sometimes I put on a pair of fake glasses. I live with my two lovely little boys and a rotating cast of framily in a housing cooperative in Ithaca, NY. I've had the fortune of traveling the world but there are lots of places I still want to go. My walls are really colorful. I've become obsessed with houseplants.
I like writing. I know more big words than I'm using right now. I'm part of a worker owned tech cooperative doing good in the world, I volunteer, I have a master's degree in environmental design and urban planning, I stand on the picket line, and my religion is dancing nude in my bedroom. I'd ride horses running through fields every single day if I could. Every. Single. Day. Oh, I sing, too. And play cello. I wish I spent more time reading books. Kenz on HPMy earliest childhood memories of HP include her super short, super curly, super weird haircut and her hunky boyfriend, Gene. I'm pretty convinced that Heather hated me when I was young, and no matter what she says, she definitely choked me on mom's bed while screaming "I am not mean!" Somewhere around my high school years and her living the free spirited life in Philly and NYC years we became friends. She got me into bars well before I was 21 and I taught her how to use a tampon at the beach. We have a shared love for U2, the brat pack, kitschy decor, hot men, and expressing ourselves with words. I think Hokey is immeasurably smart and fun and I know that I can always tell her anything. Her fierce independence is inspiring and her charm, tenacity, and wit are infectious. I know I don't even need to mention her hair - my girl's got style.!
